Eastern Touch

Dress - Generation
Jeans - Topshop Tall
Coat - Topshop
Shoes - bazaar
Necklace - Topshop

Hello!

I am British born with roots all over the east. Growing up, I loved the cultural aspects of both worlds; the different fashions and traditions fascinated me. I honestly refrain from only embodying fashions from one culture, no matter where you are from; I believe we should embody other cultures as much as we can, experience as much as we can to discover who we truly are and what our style is truly like. Despite what background you are from, I think it is very important to embrace other cultures and explore their fashions too, you'll never know what might end up loving!

I was really excited about posting this outfit on my blog, it's a mixture of eastern and western clothing, and I haven't done anything like since way back in the early days of my blog. I really love the fashion from my culture, so I embrace Indian and Pakistani clothing with open arms! I decided to mix it up a little by adding a classic brown coat and skinny jeans, giving the outfit a more modern touch. I just adore the floatiness of the kaftan dress, and the embroidery is really like nothing out there.

It's been a while since I last posted, unfortunately this is because of exams! I have exams coming up in May, and hence I will be finding it difficult to blog as frequently. Do not fret, however, as I hope I can continue to blog in a somewhat regular pattern. I am also planning on holding a blog sale and making more YouTube videos in the coming weeks, so watch this space!

Pinafore

Top (underneath) - Topshop
Pinafore Dress - Vintage @ Pop Boutique
Scarf - Vintage @ Pop Boutique
Boots - Koi Couture

Hello!

I bought this pinafore dress a while ago whilst shopping with friends, I had been looking for a pinafore dress everywhere but couldn't quite find what I was looking for. I also found it difficult to justify spending £50-£60 on pinafore dresses from other high street stores, so if you're looking for a cheaper alternative, I would definitely recommend checking out some local vintage shops! When I stumbled across this piece I was head-over-heels as I felt that the boldness and quirkiness of the pattern definitely represented my style. I gave the 60's inspired dress a heritage vibe by pairing the dress with brown boots, a simple yet classic staple part to any girl's wardrobe! This outfit was ridiculously cosy, with credit to the lovely wool scarf which may be familiar to you all from some of my previous posts.

This week has been ridiculously hectic for me! Along with masses of homework I also managed to hold a fashion show, in collaboration with boohoo.com - more on this in my later posts! Organising a fashion show involves a lot of time, perseverance and organisation from all members of the team, it was an unforgettable experience and I am so pleased with how successful it was. All the money we made from ticket sales is going to charity, so it was surely a win-win outcome for everyone.

Capes That Fly

Top - Topshop
Cape - Zara
Skirt - New Look
Boots - Koi Couture

Hello!

Ok first of all I have some super duper big news to share with you! I have kept it a secret for so long and now I'm excited to finally be sharing the big news with you! I'M IN COSMOPOLITAN INDIA MAGAZINE! Aaaaah! It's so crazy and surreal and it's such a huge honour to be featured in such a well known and wonderful magazine!

It's me! I'm in a magazine! Aaaaah! I just can't believe it!

Ok ok, so moving on to the outfit; I'm obsessed with capes at the moment. After seeing so many street style pictures of people wearing capes in so many different ways, I was inspired to try and find my own cape and wear it in my own style. I found this coat/cape from Zara, and although it's more of a summer garment  I was desperate to wear it; despite the weather being so cold that your toes would probably fall off in it.

I hope you all have a lovely start to the week, speak to you soon!

Sunglasses in the Snow

Jumper - Urban Outfitters
Cardigan - Urban Outfitters
Skirt - River Island
Scarf - vintage
Boots - Koi Couture
Glasses - Urban Outfitters

Hello!

How are you all? It has been a while since I last blogged, but not to worry, as I love blogging too much to ever leave it for good! It's been a hectic few weeks, I am proud to announce that I am organising a fashion show! It is to be held next Wednesday, and I will make sure to include some photos in my upcoming posts.

I really love layering, I truly believe that no outfit is complete without the addition of a vital scarf or that all important cardigan. There's something about layering which really appeals to me, maybe it's just the inevitable cosy look of a layered up outfit, or perhaps it's just the fact you get to wear all your favourite garments in one go. Well whatever it is, I think that layering is certainly one of my signature looks (along with hot pink lipstick, I kid you not!)

Lately I've been obsessed with cooking! Recently I've made a delicious homemade banana and vanilla ice cream and a red velvet cake. Uncannily enough, everything I have cooked up so far has been a dessert! You can follow me on Instagram (my username is simply missiffa) to follow up on my cooking adventures.
