What I Wore: Amir Khan's Wedding

Dress - custom made

It's been a while since I last posted my previous outfit post, nevertheless, I thought I would take this opportunity to show you all what a Pakistani dress looks like! This dress was custom made for me, and I think it's pretty amazing! I just love the bold, vibrant colours and combination of different fabrics, I think it makes a very classic ensemble, perfect for evening wear. Regular readers of my blog will know that I adore clothing from India and Pakistan; I think that they look so beautiful and the beautiful, bright colours look simply divine! With my wardrobe, I try to achieve a balance between eastern and western clothing, I aim to embrace both cultures and one major way in which I emulate this is through my clothing choices. Trends come and go, but I truly believe that entering a whole other culture's fashion market is just a whole other experience in itself.

I wore this outfit to Amir Khan and Faryal Makhdoom's wedding, although it was a while ago, the wedding was honestly epic, and it's not everyday that you get to attend a celebrity's wedding! I would have loved to upload some pictures, but unfortunately photography was banned on the night. (you can, however, view some pictures online here)

I've really been enjoying post-exam life, it's super chilled and so relaxing! Most of the time you will probably find me either eating, sleeping or shopping, but recently I've also been developing some new hobbies, like Islam art calligraphy and professional jewellery making. I, along with a friend, have started volunteering at a local charity shop, which has so far been a wonderful and humbling experience. Some kind people donate incredible things to charity shops, the shop which I have started working at has received some fantastic donations including a vintage fine china set and a couple of genuine designer goods too. This being said, I would totally recommend to any keen thrifters out there to rummage through your local charity shops thoroughly, as you'll be surprised as to what you may find!

Neon Orange

Jumper - Topshop
Skirt - Zara
Coat - Topshop
Boots - Koi Couture

Hello there!

EXAMS ARE OVER! It feels so good to finally be back and posting regularly! I have some exciting plans for summer, as well as hanging out with my friends, I have a trip to Dubai and London planned out, but I mainly want to spend the holidays simply relaxing and taking it easy for once. I am also starting a few projects, such as creating a magazine! (more on this soon) I cannot articulate how odd it will feel, to finally be able to enjoy myself without the burden of revision on my back for once.

My best friend and blogger Sarah took these photos whilst we were out and about in central Manchester, albeit it was a while ago, that was still a really lovely trip. I'm really going to miss Sarah because we will be going to different colleges from September, she has taught me so much, and introduced to many new and wonderful things! (Oklahoma Cafe, Best Coast, Magma to name but a few)

At the time I wore this outfit, the weather was still transitioning, hence why this outfit is a bit of mis-match. (as far as seasons are concerned) I love the lightness of this black silk maxi skirt I bought from Zara last year, it is such a staple piece in my wardrobe and it can go with most things. When I was picking out this outfit at the time, I was in a bit of a rush and thus did not have the opportunity to piece together a more , this is why I am super grateful for having a black maxi skirt.

Whilst I was away I realised that my blog has just hit 1000 followers! When I first started my blog, I never ever thought I could ever amass such a large following! So thank you very much for all your love and support, it really means the world to me!
