Magazine Haul

I am a huge magazine junkie. I love reading books and magazines, and since there's such a huge variety of both, I ultimately feel compelled to well... read everything! I have lots of magazines, half of which I haven't even been able to read yet because of the pile of homework I'm constantly buried under. So what do I do? Collect all my current magazines, both read and to-be-read, and blog about it, of course!

The classic high fashion mags. L-R: i-D, Lula, Vogue
i-D is a pretty and popular art, culture and fashion magazine. The fashion edits are unique, often androgynous and always beautiful. I would recommend this magazine if you're into the grunge aesthetic, as I found grunge to be a constant running theme of the magazine. Perhaps not all of you have heard of Lula magazine, the stunning, ethereal, highly collectable magazine which is sometimes hard to find. If you are a fan of photography and quirky, polished-to-perfection fashion, then Lula is the mag for you! Lastly out of this set of magazines is the infamous Vogue. Vogue is perfect for keeping you up-to-date with the trends as well as providing you with a vast range of products you could splash your cash on.

The mainstream mags. L-R: Company, Look, Glamour
Company is one of my favourite magazines at the moment! I love the relatable fashion spreads and often blogger-related articles. It's perfect and practically essential for every fashion and beauty blogger out there! I have never bought Look magazine before, but at £1.80, it's the perfect pick-me-up for a quick style fix. This is the first time I'm also buying Glamour magazine too, but labelling itself as "Britain's No.1 Women's Magazine", I'm sure it will not fail to impress.

The-ones-you've-never-heard-of mags. L-R: Pigeons & Peacocks, Tank, Purple Fashion
I adore independent magazines; these three are a few of my ultimate favourites. Pigeons & Peacocks describes itself as "a fashion magazine for the post apocalyptic blues", that line was enough to make me want to buy it right away! It's full to the brim with whimsical articles and unique fashion spreads. Tank magazine is very tall in length; it sort of reminds me of a newspaper: bursting with lengthy articles and thoughtful topics. Perfect is you're looking for a good read and some vivid inspiration. Purple Fashion is the priciest magazine I've ever bought, (£20!) I bought it completely on impulse, but you can hear more about that here. Price aside, the magazine is practically as big as an Argos catalogue and it definitely isn't something you'd recycle after a few months.

The artsy culture mags. L-R: Frankie, Nylon
Frankie is an eloquently written Australian magazine, full to the finish with pull out posters, stunning illustrations and endless inspiration. I would recommend Frankie for anyone who is passionate about arts and crafts. I would describe Nylon as a magazine centred around music, culture and fashion. I love reading Nylon if I'm looking to update my iPhone with some new tunes.

What kind of magazines are you into reading? I would love to hear some of your recommendations to add to my ever-growing magazine list!

Love from,

Miss Iffa
xoxo

  2. I love Frankie magazine, but unfortunately it's not available where I live! I only pick up copies when I visit London and that is very very rare! I'd love to have more copies, perhaps I'll scour ebay! Have you heard of Oh Comely magazine? I love it, and it's UK based and easy to get hold of and quite similar to Frankie :) xx

  6. Some of these I can't find in my country, which is sad, but if I did find them, they'd be ridiculously expensive. I do buy Company and Glamour in Portugal though - they're not as expensive as Nylon, which I also love. I've always wanted to buy i-D and Lula, but they're not sold in here.

P.S. - Those photos aren't mine, the source is credited in the post ;)

  9. Hello lovely, thanks for the fab comment on my blog! I am a lover of the Northern Quarter, my favourite shop being Retro Rehab. Where do you get all your mags from? I find Tutzi's on Piccadilly Gardens great, but otherwise I have to hunt around for the best titles. Do you read Wonderland? X
