2012: A Year in Photos

Brace yourself for a lot of photos! My style from January 2012 till now, I have changed so much!

What a year!2012 has been a whirlwind of a year, it's had its highs and its lows, but personally  I couldn't have asked for a better year! I wanted this formal blog year to end with a montage of my outfit posts through 2012. I have left some posts out for convenience, I don't want to swamp you all with too many photos! It's amazing seeing how much my style has evolved, how the quality of my photos has changed  and how quickly my hair has grown too! I must admit, there were some photos here which I really didn't want to upload, but as mortifying as they are, I'm really glad I did. Fashion is a learning process, instead of trying to erase your past out of embarrassment, post your old stuff everywhere and say "look at how much I've improved!" Keeping this blog and documenting all my outfits has been an incredible experience so far! I must admit, it's very interesting, looking back on all your previous outfits and judging for yourself what went wrong and what went right.I also wanted to just say thank you. Thank you to everyone and anyone who has visited my blog, commented on a post, followed or even just scrolled through. Thaaank youuu! 64 posts and 973 followers later, I am absolutely ecstatic that people genuinely like to read my little ramblings in my little corner of the internet. It's incredibly humbling. I can't thank you all enough, if there wasn't a monitor screen and numerous YouTube tabs between us right now I'd be giving you all big hugs! How will you all be spending your last few seconds of 2012? I know I will be spending them giving my mum a big hug! As for new year's resolutions, I haven't delved too deeply into deciding what mine would be. Somewhere along "read more feminist literature" and "show more random acts of kindness" would be where my resolutions lie. Feel free to share your resolutions below!HAPPY NEW YEAR!Love from,Miss Iffa

Life Lately

It seems like forever since I last posted on my blog. Unfortunately, dreaded exams are just around the corner and I have to get through a lot of work! It's been a whirlwind of a few weeks, in which I celebrated my birthday, spent days planning my party, literally shopped till I dropped and survived the end of the world!

I wanted to share a few of my birthday party photos with you all:

Me with some friends
Slightly blurry picture of me
Sweets in vintage jars
Fairy lights
My dress was custom made by a designer in India. It was a brilliant and memorable day and I loved spending it with all of my friends.

I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and a pleasant start to the new year. Wish me luck in my exams!

Coat - Topshop
Jumper - Aubin & Wills
Skirt - Topshop
Boots - Koi Couture
Cashmere scarf - a local boutique
Watch - Casio
Nails - 'Frenzy' by Chanel

I haven't blogged for over a week! Admittedly, it feels very strange being almost totally detached from the blogosphere, I'm not quite sure how I feel about that too. I have had so much work lately, and as well as blogging less, I had to miss out on a fantastic blogger event too.

When I was originally dressed, I looked like a walking advertisement for Aubin & Wills, therefore, I decided to switch it up a bit by changing a few garments and adding this beautiful cashmere houndstooth scarf. It reminds of something Chanel would sell, talking about Chanel, I'm obsessed with the nail polish I'm wearing here! It's a shade called 'Frenzy' by Chanel.

Bloggers of the Month: October

It's that time of the month again! Apologies that this post came a bit late, nevertheless, I have picked out 4 amazing blogs that you all seriously need to your lists!

Lizzie's blog is my perfect go-to for any sort of inspiration, primarily fashion, of course. I find Lizzie's style very relatable, and I'm sure you will agree that you can imagine yourselves in whatever she's wearing! But wait  it gets better! Lizzie also posts yummy recipes and she has an impeccable taste in music; he's an all-round perfect person with an all-round perfect blog. I cannot express how much I am in love with her blog, in fact, I'm listening to her music choice right now (she leaves a link at the bottom of every post, it's brilliant! It's like you're listening to the post itself!) I highly recommend you rush over to her blog right away, and be wowed by her flawless talent!

Lucy is, in my eyes, the queen of thrifting and vintage clothing. You can catch her on her YouTube channel here as well as on her shop here. Evidently, Lucy is incredibly talented and works hard on whatever she sets her mind too. Her style is wonderfully eccentric, and she is one of those rare people who can look amazing in absolutely anything! Whatever she wears, she always seems to make it work, whether it be a leopard print gilet or a Russian papakha hat. There are no fashion rules for this lady, and rightly so, as the saying goes "rules are made to be broken".

If you haven't already heard of the lovely Victoria from Vipxo, then you're seriously missing out! She's an  incredibly well-known blogger, and rightly so too! I love her classic sense of style and her eloquent technique of writing. And as if it couldn't get any better, Victoria makes the most amazing Ebay wishlist posts; I cannot even begin to tell you how many items I have bought from her wishlist posts. I always eagerly anticipate Victoria's next upcoming Ebay wishlist posts, as I know she always works so hard on them and they're always going to be full of wonderful bargains. If even that hasn't convinced you to check out her blog, then perhaps it will be the fact that her blog is full to the brim with rich content, ranging from beauty to fashion and everything in between - for people like me, Victoria's blog is like a dream come true!

If you're a fashion blogger, then I recommend you watch my video 10 Vital Tips for Fashion Bloggers - it documents all the necessary stuff you need to know from boosting your blog's traffic to commenting on other blogs.

Aztec Knitwear

Jumper - H&M
Collared shirt - Topshop
Coat - River Island
Skirt - Tesco (only £16!)
Boots - Koi Couture
Bag - Topshop

Hey y'all!

I have so much work to do! It has only been a week in school (since the holidays) and I already have exams to prepare for and masses of homework to hand in too! However, I really wanted to show you all this outfit I was wearing earlier on today. Layering is something which comes second nature to me, and there's nothing I love more than tackling a cold day with my multitude of layered clothing, I'm thinking of making a video with tips on layering. (give me a shout below if you think this is a good idea) Somewhere in this post I find it necessary to mention that I bought my skirt from Tesco! You will honestly be surprised when you see Tesco's clothing collection, their knitwear is incredibly comfortable and the quality is surprisingly excellent too!

With my friends (3 headed monster) at the party: Left to right: Sarah, Anna and Emily
With Sarah, one third of the three-headed monster compilation

Make-up - tutorial here
Dress - Topshop
Loafers - Koi Couture

To celebrate Halloween, my friend arranged a spectacular Halloween party including fireworks and amazing food (yes, including cupcakes). I had a lovely time and some of the outfits people wore were incredibly original and creative. I went as a pop art character, complete with blonde hair. (one of my friends initially though I had chicken pox)

Check out the accompanying video to this post, where you can see more of what we got up to. Sorry that this post has been so short!

Manchester's Street Style

Today, my friend (Amani) and I decided to take a trip to Manchester for our first ever street style session! Street style is a new section to my blog and I can't wait to go on another trip to capture more of Britain's wonderful style. We were super impressed with what everyone was wearing and had a really great time spotting some really stylish people. Thanks to everyone pictured below for letting us photograph you!

I love the layering in this outfit!
I love the luxe twist to this outfit!
Slouchy tailored coats were a very popular choice!
I love the beanie hat! They're definitely big this season.
I love the classic denim and camouflage look here!
Chunky knitwear is perfect for wrapping up warm - and I love the shoes
I love the classic tailoring here, and boots are a must for this season!
I love the animal-print detailing on this coat!
I love the floral print and matching tights and brogues.
Classic layering with a mixture of fur prints - perfect for keeping warm!
I have numbered the photos to help you all when discussing each lovely girl's style, so do drop a comment on what you think below! The weather in Manchester today was awfully cold and windy, so it was admittedly difficult to take pictures, but we really appreciated how cooperative and interested everyone was.

The pavements are your catwalks and this is your front-row ticket to the latest fashion show! Stay tuned to my blog for all the latest trends, brought to your by the wonderful British public.

Check out the extra details in the video version of our trip below!
