Generation's Victorian Inspired Dress

Generation dress, thrifted leggings and bracelet, wedge shoes.

I love culture, and fashion in culture is even better. There is a big gap for British Asian fashion, a gap which I am prepared to fill. I love mixing up cultural fashion with urban street style.

This look is pretty girly, not that I’m complaining, I love changing what I wear all the time. I kept accessories and customisation to a minimum to bring out the gorgeous matte black wedges. (which I got for free!) If you’re interested in the shoes just contact me and I can easily sell you a new pair for a bargain price.

Love from,

xoxo

Gok's Road Show Live 2011: What I Wore

Inner denim shirt: thrifted, outer denim shirt: Guess, Topshop scarf, New Look trousers, Toms, Juicy Couture ring, Punky Allsorts Peace bracelet.

I had a wonderful weekend at Gok's Roadshow, I take a great interest in going to fashion shows and events, it's great to commute with people with the same interests as I do (like the wonderful @BabbleEmporium on Twitter!)

My obsession in denim. I love denim piled onto of denim with a bit of denim inbetween. It's official that I'm a rulebreaker, wearing denim right on top of denim is something the fashion world has kept restricted for months, just like the socks and sandal scandal. Well I took inspiration from this brilliant man, I call him the Double Denim Dude.

The key to wearing denim on denim is texture and colour. Anyone can wear denim shorts with a denim throw-over, but it takes a real adventurous someone to wear a denim shirt on a denim shirt!

I am proud to say that I am officially one of those people. This outfit will take me right through the snowy season, and, because I live in England, most of summer too.

Love from,

xoxo

Gok Wan's Roadshow Live 2011

I was very honoured to go to Gok's Clothes Show live, however, I was disappointed I couldn't make Pakistan Fashion Week in London.

The event was spectacular, Gok Wan managed to get everyone up on their feet clapping and cheering, it was a great turn-out.

The event started with sound checks and a lot of posing from Gok Wan. A couple of bloopers later, we got a glimpse of the three lucky girls who got pimped and pampered by Gok himself.

"They were very casual," said Gok, "they didn't look anything like this when I first met them." The three girls looked gorgeous, dressed in eclectic evening wear, it was hard to imagine any of the three in a plain top and jeans. After they strutted down the catwalk, the girls admitted they practically lived in casual clothing!

Finally we came to the fashion catwalk, which displayed Gok Wan's collection. "There's two outfits that look really similar, except one outfit cost £250 and the other only £50." The models strutted side by side, and I was left pondering which one was which! My hat goes off to Gok Wan, you really don't need a designer wardrobe to pull off a designer look.

After the inspiring fashion show, the audience voted for which collection they liked best, I couldn't choose! But in the end, the fantastic finale red dress pulled me in.

I loved the 70's take with pastel pink chiffon midi's, Twiggy inspired glasses and cropped dresses. The abundance of colour ranging from pale purple's to deep red's was fascinating. The use of different texture's was no less either.

I've had a brilliant weekend, I have much more upload however, exciting things are happening!
